Sunset Beach House - Beach Hugger 1

Great location! We will most deffently be revisiting the beach hugger. As described the cottage is small but still was comfortable for my wife and two kids, kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utiencles. We spent most our time enjoying the beach that was only a few steps through the private/shared sandy shady beautiful backyard area. The amenities such as the bbq grills, on site laurndy, and outdoor showers were all very convenient. On the beach shell? hunting was the best ive seen. There is also two bar and grills within a short walk. And treasure island has lots of shops a grocery store and gas station also near by. Love this place you wont be disappointed

This is the perfect location for a quiet beach vacation. It had all the essentials for our low key trip. It’s definitely small, but we didn’t spend much time inside when the outside was so perfect!

The local staff was amazing. Also, you can’t beat the location. The bedroom and bathroom are very small but I came for the beach and this location was perfect.

We loved staying at the beach hugger! The location is perfect being right on the beach and also within walking distance to lots of restaurants. The actual unit is small but still worked great for our sisters weekend getaway since we spent most of our time outside enjoying the ocean and the outstanding sunsets. Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely perfect location. The perfect way to actually RELAX in Florida with children. Direct access to the beach made for actually enjoying the beach all day long. No need to drive around looking for parking spots, no need to haul everything in totes and coolers to spend the day on the beach. Having "home ammenties" meant I could feed the family with regular meals and healthy snacks! Loved the outdoor shower for being in and out often. We had Walmart deliver our groceries within a few hours of checking in so we didn't have to waste any of our rental time on "errands" . Patio furniture outside, so we could eat and relax. The "backyard" (before the actual beach) had shady spots (perfect for younger ones who were in the sun all day) and a place to call "ours" when the beach was busier. Caddys Restaurant took us only a few minutes of beach-walk to get there! Used the washer and dryer with no problems. The internet was a spotty, couldn't access most of the time. We really only wanted it to stream the kids favorite show as down-time before bed while we cleaned up for the nite. Cable worked well enough for the few times we wanted to watch TV so not a huge deal. My only recommendations would be to provide beach towels for the guests and to configure "drying racks" inside the home. The walk-in closest behind the fridge was a perfect place to store our Suitcases, but there is plenty of room to install long rods for drying items thru out the day (such as swim suits, towels) or even command hooks thru out the house would be helpful for a family with several wet suits. Absolutely does not change my review and would stay again in a heartbeat!

The room at Beach Hugger was clean and comfortable. It was lovely getting to sit on the patio and read in the morning with my coffee and the beach was only steps away, so I took lots of beach walks and loved watching the sun set just steps from my front door.

That is awesome Ginny! glad you enjoyed your stay at Beach Hugger 1. Please you found the Beach Hugger clean and comfortable. How fun sitting al fresco for morning coffee whilst on the beach, and taking walks on the beach enjoying sunset and only being steps away from the Hugger. We hope you relaxed and had beach time as well. We are hopeful you will join us again for a future stay.

This location is gorgeous! Right on Sunset Beach... wonderful for energetic beach walks in the morning and for lazily watching the sun go down with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The apartment is clean, convenient, and comfortable.

The huggers are small and my favorite one is Hugger 1. It has some quirks and needs some more updating but it’s clean and though small, I find it comfortable.

I’ve stayed at the Sunset Beach House a couple of times a year since 2016. This property is an oasis, close to conveniences but offers a quiet old Florida atmosphere & escape. Shaded, peaceful, private... It’s beautiful. I’ve only stayed in the house and wanted to try a “hugger”. There are three of these small quaint attached beach bungalows. I choose Hugger 1 because it was on the far end and to me it is the most private. I love that I can park right in front of my door, walk in and through the hall into its cozy living space then step out the back door to a decked patio & the welcoming sand. The deck has a small table and a larger round table for seating. ( I brought an extra beach umbrella for the patio table) beyond the deck is a wide sandy area nestled amongst Australian pines & coconut palms. There’s are plenty of chairs for lounging and sitting, picnic tables & outdoor grill. A small path through the sea oats that provide a border and barrier lead you down to the beach & awaiting waves. It’s lovely. The property is everything I look for when staying on the beach. Hugger 1 is charming. It’s small but perfect for two people & will accommodate 4. The dining table is very small & tucked under the window in the corner of the small kitchen.
You have everything you need to prepare meals. I cook and don’t generally eat out but maybe once when I’m at the beach so I appreciate that the kitchen has the necessary pots & pans. A negative would be there isn’t much counter space but I knew that would be the case before renting based on the description on line. There were a couple of wash rags & dish towels but no pot holders. I ended up using a wash cloth to take hot pans from the oven. Other conveniences missing were a blow dryer & an ironing board. A quick call to the office will rectify that.
Over all I fully enjoyed this stay. I’m not there to hang out inside. It’s c

This beautiful little beach cottage is steps away from the ocean. Out your back door you are greeted with a stunning view of palms trees, white sand, and rolling waves. If you want a beach getaway that's right on the water, then I would highly recommend this place. Close proximity to bars, restaurants, and grocery stores.

We stayed in beach cottage 1. What I love about this property is the large sandy backyard with lots of chairs and beautiful views over the sea oats of the water. The Austrian pine trees provide wonderful shade when you don’t want to be in direct sun! Although the beach was relatively close to the public Sunset Beach, it was far enough away to have a sense of seclusion and privacy. If there was a nice pool on the property it would be perfect. There is a shower to rinse off right by our back door that was extremely handy. The bed and couch were very comfortable. If you were traveling with more than two people just be mindful that the living room and bedroom are not fully separated. There is an area at the top of the wall that is open between the bedroom and the living room and although it is blocked from visual view there is no auditory privacy. Not a problem if it’s just the two of you! There’s a big storage closet which is nice but on the downside the bathroom is very small and the sink is in the small shower, leaving only has just enough room for one person at a time. This cottage is very adequate for sleeping and preparing some meals and hanging out to watch TV but what makes this place enjoyable is the beautiful views from the backyard to the ocean and the direct access to the gulf. I brought my kayak and was able to launch right off the property. That was great. Here’s what I wish the property would implement to make this stay a little bit nicer at very low cost to them. 1. Provide an iron and an ironing board so we don’t have to go to dinner with terribly wrinkled clothes. 2. Provide dish soap so we don’t have to drive to the store just to get soap to clean the dishes. (My neighbor in cottage 2 had the same issues.) 3. Provide a broom and dust pan so that when we track sand into the cottage we can easily get it out. I had to sweep it out with a towel. 4. Provide a electronic lock to the back door like there is on the front door. That way we don’t have to walk all the way around the side of the building to get back into our cottage if we lock the back door and head to the beach. 5. Take better inventory of your cups and bowls and utensils and such. There is only one drinking glass and three coffee mugs. Thankfully I brought my own stainless steel drinking cup so I didn’t need it, but that would’ve been frustrating if I only had what was provided. Overall, it was very relaxing to stay here unless you need posh! I would stay again.

This place is very clean, stylish and cozy with amazing access to the beach.. that last part was better than we could have expected. I don't think we could have found a better value for this type of direct beach access. I would describe the style as beachy/bohemian. I loved that there was free parking for two cars, as you know parking by the ocean can be scarce and expensive. It was also close to many restaurants (within 5-10 minute drive, some you can walk to), CVS for small necessities and kitchen supplies. I definitely would come back again for a simple, socially distanced beach getaway.

Location is perfect! We had kids with us half the time so having the beach in the back yard was perfect, but still within walking distance to restaurants that we enjoyed. On site laundry was a plus!
